Ro2AmTur - Romania-Armenia Experience Exchange Project

Under the Mobility Scheme of the EU4Business program of Eurochambres we have obtained a third grant (Ro2AmTur) to bring an expert (Mrs Narine Karapetyan from IMC Armenia) from Armenia to work in the field of tourism from 7 May to 6 June 2023. The funding covered travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses of EUR 1300 and for the activities performed by Covasna CCI is to receive EUR 350.

Kick-off Meeting !

As part of the project, we organized an online meeting to which we brought four tourism experts from Armenia. The event was attended by Mrs. Anahit Manasyan, ICMCI-GI certified economic consultant, Ph.D. in Economics, spoke about tourism in Armenia. Mr. Narine Simonyan, consultant on DMO issues, and Tourist Information Center in the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia presented National Tourism Trends in Armenia, the role and function of DMOs in the success of tourist destinations in Armenia. Mrs. Syuzanna Petrosyan, Executive Director of Tavush Region Tourism Development Agency, and Mrs. Kristine Hovsepyan, Executive Director of Lori Region DMO presented how their DMO works, what activities they have, how they cooperate with economic agents and other tourism stakeholders.

At the event Mr. László Endre, Vice-President of the Covasna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the regional cluster presented the Management of Tourism Destinations, the new legislation in Romania. Mrs. Deák Gyöngyvér, Executive Director of the Tourism Development Association of Covasna County gave a presentation about the history and activity of the association. At the event we also invited Mr. Kulcsár László, councillor at the City Council of Mun. Gheorgheni (Gyergyószentmiklós), who spoke about the origin of the Armenian community in this micro-region, but also in other localities, Armenian traditions, statistical data with tourism.


Visits to BSOs and SMEs

 

Ro2AmTur project visited on 15.06.2023 in Micloșoara (Miklósvár) Count Kalnoky's Guesthouses in Transylvania, the beautiful holiday homes where guests can enjoy many details of local traditions. The idyllic atmosphere is much appreciated by English tourists, who in addition to the accommodation services can also enjoy horse riding, sauna and cypress programs, etc. These guesthouses are run in conjunction with the estate in the Zlan Valley of the King of England, Charles III. Atmosfera idilică este foarte apreciată de turiștii englezi, care pe lângă serviciile de cazare se pot bucura și de programe de călărit, saună și ciubăr, etc. Aceste case de oaspeți sunt administrate împreună cu proprietatea din Valea Zălanului a Regelui Angliei, Carol al III-lea.

 

We were guests at Kálnoky Castle, a castle from the 17th century. We were guests of Kálnoky Castle, a 17th century castle in Micloșoara (Miklósvár), renovated and turned into a museum with an interesting collection.

 


 

Our route continued through the Forest Country (Erdővidék) and the town of Baraolt (Barót). A highlight of the region is the remains of a mastodon, kept at the Baraolt Depression Museum (Erdővidék Múzeuma).

 

 

 

   

 

 

 

Also on 15 May 2023 we visited the beautiful Castle Hotel Daniel in Tălișoara (Olasztelek) in the Forest Region (Erdővidék), which offers guests accommodation in beautifully decorated historic rooms and spa experiences of the highest quality. Guests can also enjoy fine cuisine. Guests can also choose additional leisure programs, hiking, etc.

 


 

 

 

Narine Karapetyan visited several destinations in Romania as part of the Ro2AmTur project. Thus, from 23 to 25 May she visited Brasov.

 


During his visit to Brasov he participated in a tour of Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Rasnov Castle.

 


 

On 26 May, at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Bucharest, there were interesting discussions about the Armenian events organized within the framework of Timisoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture. We are glad to meet Varujan Pambuccian, Vice-President of the Union of Armenians of Romania and since 1996 Member of Parliament.

 


 

 

 


On 28 May he paid a short visit to the Armenian Church in Constanța.


 

On 29 May he visited the Armenian Embassy in Bucharest, where he had interesting discussions about the development of tourism, destinations and tourist routes.


 


 

From 30 to 31 May she visited Sibiu, the 2007 European Capital of Culture. She visited National Museum Brukenthal, Astra Museum, Saint Mary Lutheran Cathedral, Tower Museum.

 


 

On 5 June 2023 we had a meeting with the tour operator Transilvania Tourist Service in Sfântu Gheorghe. Interesting discussions about trends in tourism, destination management, and legislative news in the field.
